odd problem getting server to let others join

windows xp32 3.0 ht p4 2 gig ram
zombie panic source
dlink 604 router with verizon fios 20\20 connection

and i have sourcemod installed.

ok heres the problem, this is a little strange.
-i have this server running which upon running it claims that connection to steam servers is successfull and vac status is active.
-i have my router forwarded ports 27015 and 27020 on both ubp and tcp going the the server comp that i have assigned a static ip in dhcp
-however when i ask people to join they cannot.
-i can join it fine thru the lan
-ive looked over the log after its been a few days and it says that there has been a few people on it here and there but they where shortly kicked for high ping, but it at least tells me that someone can join
-yet still if i give people the ip they cannot join it
- and if i join it and ask them to follow me from friends list they still cannot join


is this a special case or is there a reason this happens

Disable firewall? Post a screenshot of your portforwarding page.

Here you go: first make sure you server has sv_lan 0 in server.cfg. and number 2nd, make sure all the ports are forwarded. and the 3rd go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ and copy your ip and put port in the last fx.: 111.111.111.111:27015 <-- your port and that is the ip your friends shall join

this is what i currently have my settings in virtual server, which is what portforward.com says to do


and in order for me to have an outbound ip i have to use the firewall which looks like this

the interface dropdown has WAN or LAN and the protocol dropdown has TCP,UDP,ICMP, and "*"
if i have to use the firewall page than i dont know how to fill it out

ps yes the server.cfg has sv_lan set to 0

oh and i forgot to mention that the widows firewall has long since been disabled on all my computers on the network

Can you see the device on http://www.canyouseeme.org - enter port 27015 while having the server running!

actually i think its fixed now
i actually found the solution on some torrent site who pointed me in the right direction.

it turns out that virtual server doesent really make the server all that avalible of if i assign the values in firewall it works nicely,
however it doesent show up on sites like "gamemoniter" tho, altho that site might have a delay in when it retrieves new servers


there are still some little quirks with it but at least i can get people to join now
