Cant see my server!!!

I have no router i am connected directely to the modem yet can not see my server at all please tell my why this is happening....?

is server on a lan with u?? if so u may need 2 connect useing internal ip... can others join server?? if not your firewall may have port blocked.. there could be an number of prob's.. a lil more info on your server and network may help
