[RESOLVED] Cant find SRCDS server online!
#1
Sad
Hello boys and girls!

I've been looking for thousands of theards on this forum.. but I cant solve my problem!

Im running a Counter-Strike: Source server, and have been doing that for over 5 years. But on this computer, I cant see my server online in the steam search server-list.

I have checked all my filters, and they are OK!

This is my startup-line:
-console -game cstrike +ip 213.112.15.XXX -port 27015 -tickrate 66 +map map_name +maxplayers 42

When im typing this in console:
connect IPToungueORT, I can find the server. But NOT when im searching on the map.

We are not running on any router, just on a switch (no need to open ports etc)

We got our broadband from Bredbandsbolaget in Sweden.. http://www.bredbandsbolaget.se.

And I have NOT configured any static IP, and we are running Microsoft Windows XP.

EDIT 1:
I've called Bredbandsbolaget now. (our ISP)

And there is NO intern IP address to add on the command line, I only get the external IP address.

Please help me to add [RESOLVED] in the topic now!! Wink

I have been looking at other posts here at SRCDS forum, but.. Thats not solving my problem.

Should I E-mail Steam about this? In that case, what address?

It can take up to 30 mins for the server list to actually refresh itself and I believe Steam said they are running out of room for new servers in the list becasue there are so many CS:S servers.

Finest123 that theory could be right! ALOT of people(lately) have had problems with their servers. So appartently, yes, they are probably out of space for new servers or so.

But letting the server run for like 30minutes would be worth a try imo.

ya give it a try and if you still don't see it I would say steam might not have enogh room for you Sad or you could try HLSW, CLICK HERE to download. HLSW is a server managing program and all you have to do is type in your ip (e.g. 72.226.42.172) and it should show up, if it does its on the server list (somewhere) and people will see it. ALSO what you could try is goin into your router and somewhere there might be a firewall setting. leave it enabled but uncheck the settings the attached file below shows. try that because it worked for me Big Grin and I can see my server in the master server list and my favorites and when my friends view my server info it responds now Smile. try that if that doesn't work I would say that there's nomore room. Als you could try gametiger and game-monitor.com and search. Best of luck!

Yeah I know. I have been working with CS:S servers for 5 years now. And this is the first time its NOT working.

And, I will not host it for myself, I will host it for a gaming community - Called Games4u. We got 5 diffrent server computers, and now I have tryed another computer - with the same result. So, I think its correct with the 'out of room'.[/quote]

I have already tried that.

Thanks for your replay! I have tryed with HLSW, and yeah! Its working great on BOTH servers. (with diffrent IP's of cource)

And yeah, I can see them at Game-Monitor and other game-status sites.

Thanks for helping me out - But I have sent an email to Steam Support, and they said that they do NOT help me with server software. So... there is nothing I can do.. Just wait - and see if it never appears.

Many thanks for all answers,
Robin.

You could also try this... In your router there might be a firewall tab and some settings in there. I attached a picture of what my router firewall settings look like and now I can see my server on the master server list and people can view my server info and it will respond now Smile. Oh, yeah I forgot. I DID NOT need to disable my firewall for this to work it's still enabled and it works great. I hope your router looks similar to mine, if not the same. Also go to http://www.portforward.com and choose your router and choose Steam Server and see if they have settings in there for your firewall, but if my attached files looks like your router then you probably don't have to go to portforward. So, give that a try and if that works... Grats! and if it doesn't I wouldn't worry about it too much becasue you said you saw your server on HLSW and game-monitor, so your server is out there, somewhere Toungue.

Hi, thanks for trying to help me out :-)

But, as I said before - Im NOT using a router at all.

This is a quote from my post, #5
RobinEkstrom Wrote:NETWORK AND BANDWIDTH INFO

And now, I found my server. BUT it was needed to search for 20 minutes. And no one else can find it - If they just search for about 5 minutes.

But I think it should get a better rank - and with the time it should be like other servers.

Thanks all. Im adding RESOLVED now.
