Yet another "my TF2 server won't appear in the server list" thread

Code:
-game tf -console +ip WANIP -port 27016 +maxplayers 24 +exec server.cfg +map cp_dustbowl

WANIP = your public IP address.
This doesn't work:
srcds.exe Wrote:---------------------------
Engine Error
---------------------------
Couldn't allocate any server IP port
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

And in the console I get:
srcds.exe Wrote:WARNING: NNET_OpenSocket: bind: WSAEADDRNOTAVAIL

and the srcds closes (and no, no other program is using port 27016 Toungue)

MjrNuT Wrote:
Code:
-game tf -console -hostip -port 27016 +maxplayers 24 +exec server.cfg +map cp_dustbowl
And .... no! Sad
The server still doesn't appear in the server list Sad (Windows Firewall is disabled)

MjrNuT Wrote:If this does not work, then I'm done dewd and sorry. Sad
It's ok, thanks for trying to help anyway! Smile

Hey there,

I am having the same issue. I tried this and had the same results as Stanos. People can connect by using the favorites tab, but my server is never listed on the Master List.

Just for the record, I booted Ubuntu 9.04 from my LiveCD to try it there and I checked from another computer if I could see the server in the internet tab. It didn't work Sad
Also, I did configure the same local static IP as the one I use in Windows (192.168.1.8).

Also, something "strange" happened. Srcds would use by default IP 127.0.1.1 . On the other computer, I could see the game on the LAN tab, but I couldn't see it in the internet tab (as always...). I added +ip 192.168.1.8 to the launch parameters and then I wasn't able to see the server in the LAN tab (but I could join it via the console). Of course, I couldn't see it on the internet tab Sad

Do you run with multiple routers? Or do you have switches?

One router connected to one switch.
However, I have tried connecting the computer I run the server directly to the switch via the ethernet port and I still had the same problem Sad

I had this same issue. Troubleshot for days with my router, server.cfg, and whatever I could think of. I have a D-LINK DIR-655. I ended up getting my server to list in the steam server list by adding 27015 in my virtual server forwarding option. If your router has the ability to forward as a virtual server, try this instead of under the port forwarding section. Works great for me now.

Thanks for this. I have the exact same router... though i have DHCP turned off on it to try to make it function more as a switch and an access point, I completely forgot I would need to set up something on this router. After applying your fix, my server showed up in the master browser.

Setup is Fios Modem/Router port forward 27015->Switch->D-link (your solution)->Server. I know a lot but it works well in my house and now my 32 man is up. YAY for forums!
