Server only shows in internet after a restart
#1
I've been having issues with my dedicated server for a while now. It's for Obsidian Conflict, and for some reason the only time it seems to show up on anyone else's server browser is right after I either restart the server or the PC itself. It shows up fine any time the server is running under my own LAN tab. Here's the server specs:

Windows XP Home
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1.8 GHz
1 GB Ram

I'm running Sourcemod for the rtv feature and for admin commands. The batch file I use to start the server is as follows:

srcds.exe -console -game obsidian -port 27016 +map oc_lobby +maxplayers 8

I have all of the ports forwarded on my router and used the guide at port forwarding.com to do so. My windows firewall also has port 27016 forwarded in TCP and UDP.

Any ideas? I've tried opening a DMZ on my router as well as turning off my windows firewall completely, but it doesn't seem to make a difference.

Shouldn't need an IP line...

Mooga,

I agree it shouldn't, but it was a leading question, if you will. So many different ways to run a server and not all the details are provided to help properly, as I know you know that. Big Grin

An IP shouldn't hurt (if done correctly) Toungue
Actually, if the server has multiple IPs/NICs it should help A LOT.

Been keeping an eye on my server and it was working fine all day yesterday. It seems to be an on and off thing...so far it's been working most of the time, but it will occasionally drop from the server list. I'll try adding an -ip line to my config. I assume it will need to be my external IP address and not the 192.168.x address.

EDIT: Tried tagging -ip on the end of the batch file with my external IP address but it said it couldn't allocate the address. Tried it with my 192.168 address and it seemed to work fine. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Should I put the ip tag in a specific place in the bat?
