Source Update Issue
#1
Code:
gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 3.4.3 20050227 (Red Hat 3.4.3-22.fc3)

Code:
uname -v
#1 SMP Tue Nov 2 14:59:52 EST 2004

My problem is I can't seem to get my server up to build 2433, when I run a listen server it says 2433, and several public servers say 2433. One of the mod's is being messed up on this old build and I need to get it up to 2433 I believe (if I'm not mistaken). Although steam says it is updated. I encountered some file permission issues but changed the permissions to the directory explicity. I think i might have to re-install completely to rectify the permissions. Any ideas? I used chmod 777 * -R while on root, to change permissions, cause I wanted a quick fix. It appeared to update after that, but still remains on build #2425. Any ideas?

This was the permissions issue i had:

Yeah, i have a suggestion, don't install OR run the server as root.

I know that is the typical response, and so I've tried completely re-installing twice in the fears that i may have installed from the first time from root. I made a new directory chown to my non root account, then from my other account(indeed not root) completely downloaded, and installed another server. All the while I checked permissions with ls-la to make sure the files took over permissions from the directory, which it did. So when I run the server on my account, I continue to get build 2425 from the status on console. Any ideas? I've tried re-installing twice. If someone could confirm this when they start up the server, does it match yours?

Code:
Enabling debug mode
Auto-restarting the server on crash
Updating server using Steam.
Checking bootstrapper version ...
