gcc --version

hlds now requires the same glibc as srcds

I'm getting the same problem. I emailed linux@valvesoftware.com but the solution i got from there was googling something concerning SELinux, but that only gave me the solution of shutting down SELinux, which i'm pretty un-happy with. I still haven't found a solution. If you do, please let me know.

Hi All,

Thanks for your replies. Well i could turn selinux off but i think for that totally to be turned off it means the server needs to be rebooted etc. Also that gcc thingy sounds more to be the problem.

Still don't really know what to do, if i find the solution to the problem i'll post on here.

Hi all,

Okay still havn't managed to sort the issue out. I tried linking the files with the In -s command but i had no libstdc++ file in that directory. I am running srcds servers from that box. Also goign through countless google pages and forum posts still hasn't given me a clue or how to fix this.

hlds now requires the same glibc as srcds , i don't understand what you mean by that. My gcc version is: gcc (GCC) 3.4.3 20050227 (Red Hat 3.4.3-22.fc3.

This is a stupid problem that quite frankly is really bugging me now.

Any ideas or some clues i'm in despair with this?

Thanks in advance

I recently put together a dual opteron 252 box and ran into this error. to fix this you need to install libstdc++-v3
