Reputation System
#1
I don't know about you guys, but I'm starting to hate this Rep system. So far I've got 2 negative comments, 1 by a person with no posts or threads, and 1 by a person who told me to get my head out of my ass while I posted against running a server on the same computer you play on.

I think it is unfair that people get tagged this way, and a much better system would be Profile comments, not ratings.

I know all the mods have like 10+ Rep, but I hope there is no offense when I say some of that might be a few "suck-ups." Toungue

Are there any comments on this? Please don't give me neg. rep for posting this Big Grin

That would be better.

I'm all in for whatever people choice(admins) - so if Drocona wants to disable, he should feel free for my site. If he don't, it's good too. Smile

LOL wow, some people are so serious about their rep. I think of it more like a game lol.

I just think for the people who are new, how much they trust a person is by their rep, when it should be how good and thoroughly they answer a question.

So very true, I mean look at some of these peoples reps, some put +1 for the hell of it.

I also know of a few instances where there has been some reputation bribery...

Oh I am sure, along with private messages containing "I will rep you if you rep me" vice versa.

Is the rep system not limited to members with a certain number of posts? I mean can anyone come in and give points away based on the mere fact that they have an account? Or is the system done by the number of posts ex: every 10 posts = 1 rep point you can give away? Sorry I'm just not familiar with this system :/

You: Hey, I want to run this program!
Windows: Ok.. It crashed... Now what? Give up?
You:...wtf...
*linux output helpful?*
You: ./My_program
Linux:...Failed!...oo kitties!

That brings up another good point, also what keeps people from opening up another account to rep their other account?

Is there any chance we can change this? The system seems a little flawed imo. For all we know anyone could register and spam negative points to our accounts just cause they mad, Specially with kiddies learning abotu proxy services now a days. BTW I have no rep Sad no fair!
