Uhm... It says to type "hldsupdatetool -game list" to display a list of games.. but that command doesn't really work..
"C:\srcds>hldsupdatetool -game list
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Use: hldsupdatetool -command <command> [parameters] [flags]"
Fail.
The whole reason I'm trying to make a dedicted server with gmod is because, When I make a server using nothing but the modem my ISP gave me which doubles as a router apparently.. And I click create multiplayer with Local Area Network game unchecked..
My friends say they can not right click my name and hit join game and that my server shows up as not responding. But I have forwarded ports..
Entry Protocol Global Port(s) Local Port(s)
1 TCP 27015 27015
2 UDP 27015 27015
And basically what happens is I end up staying in my server alone messing around.. and then somebody joins.. And I say hey how did yu join my server?! And they say it was in internet list. And I add them to my steam and ask them to right click my name and try to join that way and it shows up as not responding to them and they can't join. So then i say okay join my server by using the internet list method.. and they join. Then I tell them to check there console to see what IPort it connected to. And it shows them connecting to my WAN IP and port 27015 or so. SO then i say okay disconnect now and open the console and type in connect IPort. And so they do that and they fail to connect. They can't even join by clicking the friends tab in garry's mod which shows all games hosted by friends. Because it doesn't show up there or its just not working, I'm not sure. Seems like only certain people can see my game in the internet list.. I asked another guy to try to find my game in the internet list and he says he couldn't find it. Another thing is I am pretty sure i had it worked 2 days ago where people could right click my name and hit join.. That was right after I forwarded ports.
But I havn't changed a thing and now it is not working. I have even tried enabling DMZ. Windows firewall is disabled I don't have any other firewall. One thing that I find strange is that if I goto canyouseeme.org to check to see if it shows my port as being open it says the ports closed and the reason as connection refused.. At one point of time it did say open but the issue of people not being able to join still existed..
Anyone know whats going on? If not could somebody explain to me how to create a dedicated server for garry's mod?
