Hey,
So I was trying to create a nice server. I forwarded the ports but when I create it, the ip becomes 192.168.1.14
Is there any way to change that? I've heard about the CMD LINE but I've got no idea where to find it. I remember that I had once rent a server and there was a place called the cmd line where there were things like +maxplayers 12 and -tickrate 66 (or +tickrate 66 not sure Toungue) and +ip 99.999.999.999. But that cmd line was on the website Sad

Any help?

how many slots server can I run with this pc (garry's mod server)?

What he is talking about it that your posted Upload speed was not enough to run a 12 slot server. To be honest, you may only be able to run 4 or so, depending on tickrate and other settings.

Try getting a better internet connection, or just renting a server.
If you are planning on running a server on the computer you play on...

Thanks, but what should my upload speed needs to be to run a decent 12 slots 66 tickrate server?

About the server, I tried to use the -ip and the +ip command with my IP next to it but when I start my server it says 'Couldn't allocate any server ports' or something. I tried different ports but with no luck Sad

I would say you need 3-5mbps (3000-5000kbps). Feel free to correct me anyone if I'm wrong.
If you are planning on running a server on the computer you play on...

If you remove the (-ip XXX.XXX.X.X) parameter via target line, your server will work!

This is wrong. 12 slot server 66 tic, you would need at least a 1 mbp connection. you could probably do 12 slots at 33 tic with your .8 up

lol ok go to whatismyip.com the 192.168.1.100 or w/e is ur lan ip. the whatismyip.com ip is your external ip, or the one you give to other people to join my server. also you do need to get more upload speed. mine is

and i can only get 10 slots without peoples pings going to 300+
