no... if u don't want a secure server.. you have to add -insecure

atleast thats what the update said...

but i mean really.. WHY would u want an insecure server??

Ok, thats right.....

Dedicated servers are now secure by default, add "-insecure" to the command line to run in insecure mode.

So no more -vacbeta line needed. got it

I have been trying to get vac on my server, however, a couple seconds after launching, it says VAC mode disabled. I have sv_secure 1 in my server.cfg and -vacbeta in my command line (i have tried with without both and it still does the same thing) any ideas?

thats weird... im lost.. lol.. i guess to just make sure.. launch the server.. then on steam on the server list.. on lan or however you connect to it.. right click and click server info and see if it says secure or not secure.

cuz it should be enabled always without havting to add vacbeta OR sv_Secure.. maybe try to take that sv_secure out... ??

(as you can see u don't really know what to say....)

I have the same issue on my server. I believe the problem you are having is that a connection can not be made with the Steam servers for some reason. This is the message it gives me in the console.

Quote:Could not establish connection to Steam servers.
VAC secure mode disabled.

I just can't figure out why the hell the connection can not be made.

Is your server dmz`ed?

It isn't an issue with the router because the server has open access. When VAC2 was beta, we had no issue getting VAC to activate. I tried getting VAC to connect again today, but no luck.
