tf2 server shoing up as 3rd pary mod
#1
i cant figure out why the TF2 dedicated server is regestering as A-team fortress and not Team Fortress 2 server. when i go to server listings in steam it shows the server, when i double click it, it says "you dont have this third part mod". i have team fortress 2 and and i have the dedicated server set as TF2 when i first start the server. after it loads it says team fortress in the game type.

how do i fix this

Did you install it off the hldsupdate tool + srcds? Or did you use the Steam Tool? Always use the SRCDS program before the Steam tool!

i already did that

could there be any other reason why this would happen

well it wont show up in tf2 because it is seeing it as if it is another game

it says in the server info Team Fortress and not Team Fortress 2 so when i doble click it it says "you do not have this 3rd party mod installd. does any one have the tfds download i can get something int configed right ho and it shows some of my mods that iv made in my game type brouser

ok insted of running it from steam i ran it from a bat file it has alot of errors

it says "couldent allocate any server IP port"

this is in the bat file
srcds.exe -console -game tf +ip 192.168.1.65 -port 27015 +maxplayers 24 +map ctf_2fort
i changed it had to many 5's stupid typos
SORRY ABOUT THAT GUYS IM SHCH A RETARD

"192.168.1.655"

Isn't a valid IP.

Only from 0 to 255. Smile

The mods are Meta mod, Sorce mod, and Beatles mod. What do you mean it is invalid IP? How do i change the IP when my IP is Permanent?

I've heard of port forwarding but it never works out for me. The only thing I can see is that the problem net wise has no channels when I type net_channels, or that my out going speed is 2.45 kb/s and my Inn speed 1.34 kb/s, which needs to be changed.

Oh and if you are wondering what plugins I've got for my source mod, I've got the Mod Pack that came with it. I also downloaded the Boomhead Shot plugin, and the Sentry Grabbler plugin.

What I cant get is why all the files I've got in my Team Fortress 2 folder works, when I make a server in TF2 and all of the mods works and the same in srcds. TF2 and srcds says in the consol that they are loaded but idk why it shows up as a 3rd party mod in srcds.

I may be a moder and a programer but I dont know everything.

192.168.1.655 is not a real ip, there is no such thing as that IP.

I'm confused now, either the last 2 lines were added on, or he didn't read the 3 posts about the 655 ip.
