Server Spray Limits- We need your help!
#1
Question
I can't figure this out for the life of me, and I've only found one other post on any CS:S related forums to this effect, so I figured I'd spread the word around in hopes of getting some answers. I run a CS:S server, and just got my custom spray all set up... and I noticed something.

Only one of your sprays will appear at a time.

Example: If you spray the ground in front of you, then spray the wall behind you, the image you sprayed on the ground will dissapear.

Does anyone know of a setting one could put in one's configuration files that would make this not the case?

Any help is appreciated.

Note: Yes, I am aware that this question has been asked in another thread. However, it was asked with two other questions, and was ignored. I post this question alone here in hopes of attracting some possible answers. Thanks!

I don't know why you would want this, if alot of people did this, then it would end up lagging the crap out of the server.

I've had the same experiance (that is, lack of lag).

Besides- the server's got tons of bandwidth to spare for the moment for silly things like this, and I rather like being able to tag more then one thing at a time. :3

Update on Valve:
I got a responce today. I wasn't very pleased with it.

steampowered.com (BrianV) Wrote:Solei,
I'm sorry to have to redirect you, but all support for Dedicated Server questions is being done through a separate venue. Please check out http://www.srcds.com for all your Dedicated Server support needs.

I replied:

Steampowered.com (Solei) Wrote:I've been to srcds.com, and I've posted about this. srcds.com is nothing more then a forum with users just like myself who are having the same problems I am.

I believe I'm entitled to a higher level of technical support then that.

And the wait resumes... but something tells me I'm not going to get much more in the line of help from their "technical support".

I FINALLY received a responce from the people at Steampowered.com.

Quote:Solei,
I only found one CVAR that addresses this:

r_spray_lifetime - Number of rounds player sprays are visible

Otherwise, I know the sprays will stay for a limited time, but I don't see a way to increase that other than this CVAR.

So they know nothing either. I'll ask if they intend to release a fix.
