Not visible in Master-List

Hi Everyone! Smile

I know there have been similar posts like this, but they don't have the same problem as me. And I have searched, and checked the FAQ, but didn't find any soloution.

Well, I have a Source Dedicated Server, and I am behind a router that I have open'd the correct ports to my computer. I have a NETGEAR WGT-624.

If someone type in the console "connect xx.xx.xx.xx:27015" (with my ip) then they can connect to the server.

But the problem here is, it's not showing in the master list! Sad Sad
If I remove my router, and but the internet directly to my computer, it works. but Now when I AM behind a router, it doesn't. Also, if I type "status" in console, it tells me the internal ip address "194.17.200.15:27015".

If I then add in the startup parameter's "+ip <EXTERNAL IP>" Then I get the " couldn't allocate blahblah" error.

Please help me with this

is sv_lan 0 enabled in your server cfg?
Make sure that is, and as far as your ip address, try enabling DMZ in your roughter to that internal ip that is on that server for srcds...

The problem you're having is basically that the server can't connect to the steam servers to add your server to the list...
What does your console say right after opening it? What ports have you forwarded?

When I start the server, it acctually tells me:

Code:
Adding master server 68.142.72.250:27011
Adding master server 69.28.140.247:27011
Connection to Steam servers successful.
   VAC secure mode is activated.

And Yes, I have sv_lan 0

Any more suggestion anyone?
thanks.

Edit: The port I have forwarded is:
1200-1200
27000-27015
27020-27039

I followed a guide at http://www.portforward.com , so it should be right, because players can connect via the "connect" command.

I'm experiencing a very similar problem and someone just told me:
Doggie52 Wrote:Also, writing your external IP as the IP will also cause problems! Use your internal IP and nothing but your internal IP Smile !

For my start up parameters (tf.bat for me), I put -ip <EXTERNAL IP> and it gave me the same error you got. I put -ip <INTERNAL IP> and it has no error. I dunno if it's still accessable from the internet if I do that, though. Try it out and see if other people can still join your game.

Yeah, Thanks. Smile
I've come so far too, to put the Internal IP instead of external. People can connect from the internet. But they can't find it in the "Master List" where you search for servers. Sad

Steam Master list is very weird in how it works. If people that you don't know are connecting, chances are that it is showing up, just not for you Toungue

I hope this helps..

Yeah, I agree with the beaverguy (may I call you that Big Grin ?); have the server running for a long time and run some "funmaps" and the chances are someone will connect. You can check this by simple logging everything and setting short map-change cycles (so the logs update often)!

#1 you will not be able to see your server in the master list because you cannot see the external ip that the master server list has. For you it will show up under the lan tab. Secondly steam master server lists are funny when using internal ip's but based on your end result after the server starts your server should show up in the master list for everyone but you.
*Windows lack of output*
You: Hey, I want to run this program!
Windows: Ok.. It crashed... Now what? Give up?
You:...wtf...
*linux output helpful?*
You: ./My_program
Linux:...Failed!...oo kitties!
You:...wtf...

That's also a matter of what router you have etc. My servers show up for me on my server list and I can fetch server info from my external IP too.

I had it on for about 10 minutes. After that I told my friend to look after it. He didn't find anything. Sad

By the way. I have some plugins, wich is:

1. Mani Admin Plugin

- Svens Skins
- Skin Chooser
- Noblock
- BunnyJump
3. MetaMod

But I Guess it doesn't make any difference?

Thanks in advice. Rolleyes

Can you create a server that is visible in the master list? Rolleyes
I guess D-Link is one of the better "gaming" routers.
