Unable to change maxplayers

Hi All,

I have been googlin for a couple hours now and still cannot find a solution so here goes.

Win 7 Ultimate x64
Core i7 920
6GB RAM
Left 4 Dead 2
srcds -console -game "left4dead2" -port 27015 -maxplayers 8

no mods at the moment just trying to get the server "up" properly.

I am trying to get the maxplayers from 18 down to 8. It will always revert back to 18 players no matter if I try to do it from GUI or console. I have tried both -maxplayers and +maxplayers and neither works.

I thought that srcds supported -maxplayers? why would i need a plugin for something that should be stock?

I would think that it's because your game type is left4dead2 which doesn't normally operate with more or less than 4 or 8 players...

l4d2 not support -maxplayers options
