Dual boot/OS (Windows and Linux)
#1
Hi. I have an question, can I use the same srcds files for both Windows and linux(Ubuntu 10.04 32-bit)? I've tried wine on the windows executable, but without success. I've also downloaded the srcds for linux, to try to put it on top of the existing windows files, but at the last step, where I start the server it fails with this: "bash: ./srcds_run: No such file or directory" Why? I've went trough all the steps:
Code:
wget http://www.steampowered.com/download/hldsupdatetool.bin
chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin
./hldsupdatetool.bin
./steam
./steam -command update -game "Garrysmod" -dir .
anderen2@ubuntu:/media/7876A75F76A71D3E/srcds$ ./srcds_run
bash: ./srcds_run: No such file or directory
Ive tried renaming the windows(srcds.exe) to srcds win.exe. But still fails at the same spot...

Honestly I ROFLMAO Big Grin

No you cannot use the same files for Windows as you do on Linux. You can use the maps, materials and sounds but you must use the correct library, which means you cannot change the file name. You'll need to download new files for Linux or Windows Smile

Also this is wrong:
Code:
/*
You must CD into the orangebox dir or else you won't be able to start your GarrysMod server.
*/
cd orangebox
./srcds_run

Your issue is that you are trying to use the hldsupdater to get Garrysmod for linux.

And that aint posible atm, as they are beta binaries.
Go look on the thread here;: http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=933697

I know i need the linux lib's thats why i want to Update linux libs next to windows's. And ive also tried to cd the orangebox dir, because its there srcds for windows is, but srcds_run dosent exist there either...
