I've been using a single E5520 to host some css servers, i would say the performance is ok, not as good as my other X3460. The issue could be with my mobo itsself, (FPS jitter), but overall it would be more than enough to host several 32slot 100TICK 500FPS srcds HL2 based games.

I would by all means recommend the new Nahelem-EP CPU's though, E56xx If your going to Dual or more CPU based systems.

For single cpu the X34 i7 based Lynfields, and X35 Nahelems work great. The higher the clock, the system runs a bit better. ( I need to beta test some more )

NOTE: the X3430 is the i5 based lynnfield.
