LAN CFG
#1
Hey im hosting a css lan, been hosting css servers for a while now but havent really looked too far into server configs, just really skimmed over the basics and used whats necessary, anyways can i have some recommended server.cfg's for a lan that utilizes max potential in fps and minimal lag, server hardware stats are not an issue either are users hardware stats, and obviously connection is not an issue on a switch.

One other issue that has come to rise, is that if my server starts whilst the internet is on, and then the internet is disconnected, people start getting kicked by the server, i forget the exact message but its something to do with a steam ticket or something, anyways im taking a random stab and guessing that this is because it connects to valve and enables VAC, how would i go about disabling this?

Thanks SRCDS, you guys have helped me heaps Wink

Well first of all, a config you would use is sv_lan 1 Smile

hehe, very funny, but a very strange point that arises when you use that command is that it still connects to VAC, i would assume "sv_lan 1" would set all operations to disconnect from the internet.

Add -insecure to the bootup line to disable VAC.
To fix the Steam ID issues, I think you need to set the clients to off-line mode... Not 100% sure but give that a try.

ah ok, yeah im not really fond of the offline mode, it seems to be a bit buggy, i like people to be connected via internet then connect, thank you for the insecure command, that was what i was looking for

Someday when i tested one of my maps (made in source sdk), a player joined, even with sv_lan 1 on so it must be buggy Toungue
