Yea, they have to do things like that, you lose quality and performance but you gain security and detection.

The more extra crap you load on your server the more choke and less smooth it gets. Anyway, I'll post my results once I've given my new whitelist a shot.

To be honest, zBlock doesn't make any difference.

Not for leagues no. I wanted to use it for security but it doesn't seem to be all that great for that either. I might just stick with the event script exploit cover-up by bytethegroove. Seems to work fairly well so far. http://addons.eventscripts.com/addons/view/exploit

I used it on my public server, it constantly protected me agianst users having client plugins installed and several addionally cvars. And it blocked the crouch bug and bunnyjump fix.

I agree, zblock does help prevent some things. Do you know how heavily zblock affects the performance of a server? I only ask to get an idea of it being worth the drop in performance or not.

Probably 0.005% lower performance and that's on load up.

2 scripts with Eventscripts is heavier than zBlock.
In fact, I believe zBlock is one of the lowest ressource hungry plugins. Next to MetaMod: Source Toungue

Yea, all it does is just check for a few cmds any who... If you had zblock on a server and noticed a performance drop your host probably just sucks.

Either that, or he has some settings wrong with zblock. . . To my knowledge, you can change rate settings that zblock enforces and such.
