Specific Requirements.

Hi there, before i write any more i just want to say i have googled alot and came to no direct awnser.
so here comes the question =)

A friend and i are in to geting a server computer for and start a community and are wondering what the max
number of slots an Intel Xeon E5-2687W v2(8Core,16 threaded, 3.4 ghz) can run and im not just out after the awner alot im looking for a more correct number.

There are alot more factors than just the processor will depend on how many slots you can run. Factors would include : RAM, upload/download speeds, game, OS, etc.

Counter-Strike: Source, can only run up to 64 players.


Currently, I am probably pushing the limit on my VPS, running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, with 4 gb of ram, quad core processor with hyper-threading (8 threads) with 3 Counter-Strike: Source servers @ 32 slots.

Well, number of ram Will not be a problem and upload/download speed dont ither. So is more what the cpu can Candle in this Case :-)

First of all its really nice, high end cpu.

We have 4 core, 8 threaded 3.4ghz i7 2600 cpu, and we can handle 300 player at same time without problem in cs:go. So I think you can easily double that number.
