I followed this guide, did everything. I even did Port Forward, but my friends still can't connect. I am the only one who is able to connect. Can you help me?

Hello everyone,

I've coded something for RPM based Linux servers - https://github.com/GIANTCRAB/Team_Fortress_2_Game_Server
I'll be supporting Windows soon.

Hi all.

Having some issues making my server available on the internet. It would appear that only I am able to see it under LAN, although the sv_lan 0 is in the .cfg file.

A screenshot of my server window is here http://i.imgur.com/CZ51q.jpg

I have configured port forwarding on my router, as evidenced here: http://i.imgur.com/AyQx6.jpg

Not sure what I'm missing at this point.

So...I tried testing my port forward setup....and although it's clearly indicated in the router settings...it's doesn't appear to be forwarding...

Edit: A google search would indicate that many others have had issues with port forwarding on Comcast/Xfinity Gateways. FML.

When trying to start my server start.bat file (as in the tutorial) I get the error:

"The procedure entry point Coroutine_Create could not be located in the dynamic link library vstdlib.dll"

Any suggestions?

Have you checked that you have everything installed in the right paths?
Did the installation complete? Sometimes you need to run the install/update several times to get all the files.

Question
[I'm posting this in both threads just to be safe.)
Alright: so I created a server using this guide, following it to the letter, I even port forwarded using these settings , and I created my .cfg here and made sure that sv_lan "0" was set. Long story short: I start up the server, let it run it's course, start up TF2, and look in the LAN tab in the server browser. I connect to the server, wander around a bit, and invite my friend to join. It pulls up a window saying: "Server not responding...", with a button whose only option is to cancel. This question has probably been asked and answered before, but if so: I can't find it. Would someone be willing to help me so that other people can connect to my server?

Bonus Question: is there some way to get my server listed in the normal "Internet" portion of the server browser so that anyone and everyone could connect to it?

I'm trying to execute my server.cfg, but it keeps saying "tf_server_identity_account_id not set; not logging into registered account". Am I doing something wrong?

Hey, i have a problem when trying to run the UpdateTF2.bat file.

When i run the file, it says this:
(Yes, i want to install the server on my E drive.)

E:\TF2Server>E:\HLServer\HLdsUpdateTool -command update -game tf -dir E:\HLServe
r
Checking bootstapper version ...
Getting version 50 of Steam HLDS Update Tool
Downloading. . . . . . . . . . .

And then a split second later it says:

unable to open HldsUpdateToolNew.exe for writing (errno = 13)

And closes for a split second.
I had to take a Print Screen in order to see what was written there.
So yeah... Could anybody please help? thanks Smile

I'm currently trying to host a server for my friends and I am currently installing the TF2 files. Its been downloading for 3-5 hrs now and its still downloading. I checked the guide and its says the total file size is 1.8gb but mine excceded that and is currently 4.43gb. Is this normal? Its downloading the files for orangebox and the hl2 folder haven't even been completed. Help anyone? :C

EDIT: Its alright,i gave up on creating a server, but could someone tell me the total file size? Big Grin
