Increased lag over time
#1
Server OS: Windows Server 2008 64Bit
Processor: Intel Core i3-2120T 2.60GHz
Ram: 8GB 1600MHz
Game: 2x Counter-strike source (1 fresh and 1 with mods)
Startup cmd(Using SRCDS Guardian 3): -console -game cstrike +map hoejhus9_v50 -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate
Admin Mods: Sourcemod (We have tried disabling all our mods including admin, still doesn't help)

So our main problem is that we have the srcds server running, and within 24Hrs we are having lag issues, 1 step forward 2 steps backwards ect.
Not something that annoys "new" players but players that play counter-strike source reguarly will find it annoying(Including myself)
And we cannot see any increased usage on the cpu, ram or the network speed.

The only "hotfix" we have right now is restarting the server once a day, but without any control panel it is annoying to logon at 8AM in the morning and restart it, since thats where we got the least players.

So i thought i would post here to see if anyone had the same issue and maybe a fix for it.

If you need any more information, just write and i will ask the server owner for any more information.

Well I normally make my servers restart every 24 hours to avoid this. Don't really see any other solution.

I know what your problem is, and there is afaik no way to fix it without changelevel or restarting the server every day.

Do you restart them manually or do you have some sort of batch script that does this ?
btw, we just noticed that our minecraft servers also started to lag, so we are thinking it might be a faulty hdd he got from his work.

I do the same to Minecraft Smile Pretty much all game servers benefits from getting restarted once and a while.

But no, I got my own system for running game servers, as a Windows Service.

We tried to setup TCAdmin (The Demo) but since our apache server is running in a linux virtual enviroment, it can't connect to the windows server wierd enough..
Well, i gotta keep looking Smile
