TF2 server thinks it's not up to date
#1
BASIC INFO
Server OS: Mythbuntu 10.04 64-bit
Processor: AMD Athlon II x3 450 1 thread per core 4 cores @ 3.6Ghz
Ram: 4GB
Game(s): TF2
Start Up Command: ./srcds_run -console -game "tf" +map
koth_viaduct_event -port 27017
Admin Mods: *currently disabled* mmsource

INSTALLING INFO
Full Install Command: ./steam -command update -game "tf" -dir ./

My server is updating fine. The problem is that when i start it up it says "Your server needs to be restarted in order to receive the latest update."

If I restart the server it doesn't update because I don't use -autoupdate Toungue and if I do use -autoupdate it doesn't update because it is already updated.

Trolling forums has just turned up people who say "add -verify_all -retry" which never helps. People also say that we don't use the orange box folder any more we use the CSS folder instead. As you may have guessed I'm not running a CSS server i'm running a TF2 server. Besides I can see the files download straight into ./orangebox/...

Is there a file somewhere which controls what version is broadcast to the master servers? can I change it? can I have your one?

Wow I thought I was the only one.

I didn't really fix it but I found a work around that is simply creating a fresh srcds install.

Tip (if you host the server locally):
to quickly make a fresh server extract all tf2, hl2, source 2007 shared, and source shared .gcf files to the server. Then install the server over top of the extracted '.gcf's being careful that the directories match
