stable fps when the server is full???
#1
How to make the server to have stable fps , I mean no less than 66-67 which is the tickrate, when there are 32 people inside the server (not empty). Is that possible???? Do I have to do something else with the linux kernels???? Will removing Sourcemod or Eventscripts help??? (Server has Mani already) Please if somebody knows, may reply because my server drops to 33 fps when its full at the beginning of the round and only go back high when most people are dead(server fps drops ONLY occur when there are 24 or more people inside).

P.S.

I once met a deathmatch server where there were 50 people inside and its fps were stable at 40. That server was WCFAN I think.

Addons = Lag

Remove them all.

Lol, I can't remove all the plugins. Mani must be on server.

Increase hardware (CPU), remove Adons or live with the lower fps.

CPU is Core i5. I think is pretty strong for a srcds 32-slot and also zen patch is installed on the machine.

depends on which i5 it is... the slowest might not be enough, I don't know. if you observe drops only above a certain player count, it means your cpu is at it's limits. plugins can increase cpu load, so removing all plugins just for a test might be worth a try.

running large servers is not an easy task, many people have similar problems.

It's 2.8 GHz btw. Do you mean that after the orangebox update, the curent 66 tick is equal to old 100 tick , so the cpu comsuption is equal or more?
Yes, I admit that before update, huge populated servers had no many drops.
I believe that zombie servers with 40 people inside , for example , are set to have updaterate equal to 33 instead of 66 so the server not to lag.

tick 66 is now equal good or even better as tick 100 before the update with respect of the game play. but the server nevertheless takes more cpu power, probably because the calculations are more complicated. there is no way around that, you will have to live with that. tick 33 might be a viable option, as the quality is still very good (not comparable with tick 33 before the update). it's definitively better than having lags. but it might not prevent lags in case your fps are dropping below 33 now...
