Sauna heater installation not using RCD
#1
Hello to everyone.
There is a very interesting question I will ask you guys to hear the opinions.
I want to install sauna heater 4.5kw. of course I will hire a professional electrician.
The manufacturer saying that Sauna heater should not be connected through RCD.
I have read a lot of things about it and it's very confusing. Someone saying it's a death trap which of course it's silly I believe. Someone coming with different ideas.

Sauna will be located in the outbuilding. So main supply cable for outbuilding is coming from the house.

I would just fit an mcb in the house and take it from the mains side of fuseboard(adapt it) and fit a main switch fuseboard in the garden house. Fit mcb for sauna circuit and RCBO for the others.
The main supply to the house it's TNS and do not need an earth rod.

Please let me know your opinions.
Thank you.

I had the same concern about RCD protection for a sauna heater. Regulations can differ, but safety should always come first. If anyone is looking for quality sauna heaters and components, saunamo.fr has a good selection. They provide detailed specs, which help in making sure the setup aligns with safety standards. Always double-check wiring requirements and consult an electrician if unsure.
