Gel Manicure - how long does it last for you?

How long does your gel manicure last? Mine seems to chip after a week. I have tried different salons and get the same results. It's not like I work in construction or anything. Would you go back and complain to the salon after just a week?

Mine usually last a couple of weeks at least. I noticed that if I use a lot of certain products, it comes off sooner(things like sunscreen-for example) I rarely have any chips, I get them done sooner only because the new growth is really obvious, and I don't like how they look. But-I think I have only had a bad experience once-where the polish started lifting. Ironically-on a Disney vacation where I was using a ton of sunscreen and had them use a different brand of polish than I usually go for.

I usually get about two weeks out of a gel manicure before the grow-out starts to bug me. It holds up well, but if I ever get a chip, I’ll fix it at home instead of heading back to the salon. A little buffing and the best acrylic nail glue work wonders for small chips or loose edges, and it keeps my nails looking fresh until my next appointment.
