if i have a 2.0gb cpu, 1.2gb ram and 256mb in my grafic card. what can i do to drive my server on 66 or 100 in tickrate. how can i change my server for this tickrate. when there are 10-15 players it´s starts to lag. why? i have 100mb download and 10 mb upload so i dont understand why this should happend. i use my normal computer where i sit and play also. it´s a windows xp version, do i have to make some changes on the server? and what reciament do i need do drive my server on higher tickrate ex 66 or 100. please help me to fix this problem

Hmm, not sure i FULLY understand your question, it looks like you wanna have your server run at either 66 or 100 tickrate. To do this, look at the shortcut icon for srcds, add -tickrate 100 OR -tickrate 66

thats pretty much it.

why does it start to lagg when there are 10-15 person on the server? are there any other changes there had to be made in srcds to run without lag? i drive it on 33 tickrate now and when we play at the server it´s start to lag. i dont know if there is other changes to be made on the server, now i would bee happy if it only stop lag on the server with tickrate 33. check above for the computer. but why are there lag on the server? do i have to small computer or what?

i dont know what configuration it should be on server to stop lag, i would be very happy about all help i can get for configurationon my server.

what file do you want to see. tell me the hole name on the file so i can make a copy on it, maybee it will help me litle bit more, so i can get happy igain hahahaha thanks fiddeking
you should post your server.cfg file

also playing at the same computer as the server runs on isnt very smart, it's not a DEDICATED server without a reason you know. If you play at the same machine just run a listen server from inside the game.

this is how the server looks like. and i cant find a problem, but maybee i got blind on my own server. if someone else look, maybee you can see the problem. thanks if you are looking, and thanks anyway hahaha Toungue
First of all I would set sv_maxrate to 25000, 0 it says is unlimited but this brings some issues every now and then. Also I don't think you will ever get above a rate of 20000 anyways so..

To make it a 100 or 66 tickrate you should add -tickrate <numberhere> to the startup line, Cryotek mentioned this in his post too.

Second is the sv_minupdaterate and sv_maxupdaterate.
sv_minupdaterate should be set to 20 since you get lag when it goes below 20
sv_maxupdaterate should be set to 100 since this is limited by the tickrate. example: the server tickrate is 66, the maxupdaterate AUTOMATICALLY is 66 too. If you keep maxupdaterate at 100 it's always good.

And again, do NOT play at the same PC as the server is running on. It just doesnt work...
