[SOLVED] AFTER UPDATE!!--FRIENDS CANT JOIN FROM ANOTHER FRIEND!!!!
#1
Hi guys.

I have encountered a strange issue with my servers, since update.

For example, my fun css server has IP: 195.130.109.72:8006.

But, when one friend want to join the server from another friend, he can't join, and said "Server not responding"

Also, to make this worse, at "view game info", the server appears with IP:

192.168.0.117:8006 and this happens for everyone who wanna join this server.

Same thing exactly happens with the other servers of this box too.

What's going on? How to fix that ????? Sad Sad Sad

Well a few questions for you. I assume you ran the update tool on your server to the new version correct? If so, do you have any addons on your server. There were a lot of addons that requires a new version with the new update that came out and can make the server crash. So make sure you have any addons updated.

Are you getting any errors inside the console? What OS you running for the server? I mean basic information will help us figure out what your issue is.

Well, yes , my servers have sourcemod, I updated to the newest snapshot, worked fine.
My servers DON'T CRASH!!!! Friends just can't connect from another friend through steam (right click friend -> Join Game), and at their game info at "View Game Info", they see that the server is not responding and also the LAN IP is being displayed, instead of normal ip.
HOWEVER , you can join the server normaly either from favorites list or internet list or just by typing "connect <normal ip>" at console. Is this so weird?
I don't see anyone reported this problem , but i swear (I have also asked some of my friends) that before 24 june 2011 update, everything was fine and players were able to join by every way (friends, invites , favorite list)

Well your friends will be connecting to your External IPToungueort not your internal IP and port. Are they trying to connect to your private IP address?

No, when they connect to the server from favorites list or the "connect" method, I go to look at their "view game info" and I see what I mentioned before.
Yes, they are joining the server by typing "connect EXTERNAL IPToungueORT", not INTERNAL

This isn't a bug. This always happened. There is no way to fix it.

So is it a router problem?

Or I have to add some cvars?

Or is it related to the master server issue and phantom users? ( I also experienced "fake people")

Ah I just caught that after you said that Mooga but it still doesnt sound like he has the ports forwarded correctly to me. Whats your IP and Port to your server?

well , have a look at this command line:

For example, for my fun server, IPToungueORT = 195.130.109.72:8006 (external)

and the resched.sh (server is at linux)
Quote:#!/bin/sh

process=`ps uxw | grep srcds_run | grep -v grep | awk '{print $11}'`

if [ -z "$process" ]; then
echo "Couldn't find CSS running, restarting it."
cd "$css"
screen -d -m /usr/local/srcds/tf2/orangebox/srcds_run -game cstrike -port 8006 -rcon_port 8006 +ip 192.168.0.117 +fps_max 70 +maxplayers 32 +map mg_saw_rfix_64v -autoupdate
echo "Server Started"

I'm able to see the server just fine. But like Mooga said you wont be able to get around seeing your internal IP address from your friends list. They will have to use the connect ip:port.

Excuse me, if i try to put the EXTERNAL ip, like +ip 195.130.109.72 instead of INTERNAL, +ip 192.168.0.117, will this change fix the problem? (Sorry, I can't try it now because my provider-friend is not online now and he is the only guy who can access the cmd line)

It would if you were not being a NAT router. If you were to hook up directly and the IP address was bound to your own computer, then yes, you could use your external IP address.

Tried that, the server was not able to start. So, I have to use the internal one.

Funny thing is that this cmd line wans't edited in the past or now, and we have this problem. So is it 100% a router issue?
