Server works but not on steam lists

My server runs fine and says things like "Connection to steam servers successful" but it does not show up in the steam lists. It is up to date and sv_lan is off and sv_region is set. I can see my server on the LAN list as well.

Im running a server for a mod, my start line looks like this:

srcds.exe -game gmod -maxplayers 4 -console +map gm_construct

My friend also has the same problem and has to restart his server numerous times to get it to show up. What can I do?

Kinda sounds like a port issue. Make sure you have all the ports open that you need.

does it work without the mod? that or the ports....
