I just installed Server 2008. And started up srcds.
But im running at 150fps with fps_max 1000 on the startup line. Also with fpsbooster runnning.

Are there diff steps to be in in this OS to achieve 1000 fps on srcds?

Are you connecting VIA RDP? If you are, press the x on top, go into the game server, type
rcon stats

He is running the server from the same computer as he plays on, it sounds like. This is a very highly unrecommended practice, which is why they put the Create Multiplayer option in Counter-Strike: Source.

Ok, try updating all of the drivers you have, and run windows update. Also what are the computer specs?

His drivers will have no impact on the server-side FPS, nor will Windows update.

Not only is it highly not recommended to run a server off the same PC as you're playing on, but attempting to run it at 1000fps is just ludacris. I think that will cause you more harm than good.

None the less, make sure you're typing 'rcon stats' into console, because typing just 'stats' will only display your client FPS. I have a feeling this is what you're seeing. If it's still showing 150fps, then make sure HPET is enabled, you have to do this through the BIOS. Set fps_max 0 in your startup line and also ensure srcfpsboost is running.

i would tpye rcon stats if i am playin at the server. but if i type it in the server console i only need to type stats. Im not typing stats within the game. but in the server console.

Does HPET go by other names? I think my motherboard might not support HPET. how can i make sure or find out if it does?

HPET (High Precision Event Timer)

Even without HPET, you should be achieving 500fps with srcfpsbooster running. Again, trying to run a 1000fps server off the same computer you play on, is a bad idea in general.
