Hardware Specs for multiple CSS serrvers.

I'm thinking of renting a dedicated server for my CS Source servers and want to try and sell off free resources by renting it out to other clans and such. I'm wondering how many CS Source Dedicated Servers with say 12 players each, would a P4 2.4 Ghz 512 Ram running on 03 server would be able to handle?
I'm also looking at 5Mbs prot with 1.5 TB bandwidth. Thx.

bandwidth isnt a problem, 5mbps port could be a problem though. I would say 4 servers at a push, and thats hoping that they arnt all full 100% of the time.

Thx Stealth. I wonder how the game hosting companies are making money. I know the one I'm renting the server from is paying $300 a month for a dual 2.4 Zeon. You figure even a powerhouse like that one won't be able to handle more then 10 CSS servers. And at $3 per slot they can't be making that much money? Or am I missing something>

server probably cost $500 to $600
2 months will cover the cost of the server + around $100 / month co-location fee. In around 4 months the server will be payed for and anything after that is pure profit.

Thats just figures based on UK prices, bandwidth is cheaper in the US and there is a lot less tax on hardware.

I used to host 2 16 plays on a P4 2.4, with a few plugins took the entire cpu when the servers are full. (old cs) At peak I had 6 servers going.

I used to charge $4-5/slot. 4 * 32 = 128 | 5 * 32 = 160, the server cost me about about 99/mo on a month by month agreement. The package included more than enough bandwidth and gets cheaper if you prepay. After a few servers you can do stuff like a community web/voice servers and you can still make money with a few customers, not good money, but... shrug.
