My server sometimes crashes
#1
I'm running a Garrysmod dedicated server, and I often play on my server from the same computer. But sometimes when I'm playing on it, suddenly everyone gets Connection problem, and my server disappears from the server list. But the strange thing is that when we get connection problem, there's no error message in on console, and srcds.exe is still running after the crash. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Don't, that could be your problem. (Bolded text)

But could there be any other complications that are causing this?

Maybe your firewall? Is it enabled?

Or is your connection stabile?

My firewall is online, but not blocking. And I've opened all the ports required (Both TCP and UDP). That's why I can host.

Or is your connection stabile?

Well, I don't know what you mean with stabile, but sometimes Steam goes online and offline. And while I'm running both the server and garrysmod, webpages takes a long time to load. And my server can host up to 12 players. Should I decrease the number?

Look, at the bolded text, that could be your problem. When Steam is losing connection, it's offen that there's some missing packets. And with that said, it also makes your server lose some, and that could result in "Connecting Errors".

It is definitely a mixture of steam going offline and hosting and playing on the same computer. Try lowering the player slot count.

Okey, thank you for your help. I'm going to use one computer for dedicated, and one for Garrysmod. Hopefully my crashes will go away.
