Im trying to run as many game servers on a core2quad as I can, I figured compiling a custom kernel with a low hz like 100, 250, or 500 would be the best way to do that. Since they should use less cpu with a lower hz, right?
So, just wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of thing. I rented a server one time with a default kernel which was 250hz, it was awhile ago and I cannot remember how the CPU usage was, but what I do remember is the FPS sucked, the gameservers were capped at 250 fps but once you loaded a few on there they'd drop to 150-200 fps.
P.S. Yes I know the servers wont be anything great, Im just trying to achieve a max of 250fps/100tick for CSS and run as many of em as I can on a core2quad
