I currently have a Q9300 with 4gb of ram and a 250GB SATAII 7,200RPM 32 MB Cache HD. I'm using it to host CounterStrike Source servers and I'm thinking about making an upgrade to the box. Which upgrade do you guys think would benefit me the most...
CPU Upgrade (from Q9300 to Q9550)
RAM Upgrade (from 4GB to 8GB)
HD Upgrade (from SATA II 7200 to SATA 10000)

The HD would not be a good upgrade at all
The CPU prob would be the best.
Do you rent the box? or do you own it? If you own it do you colo?

cpu if you want to run more slots, hd if you want maps to load a little faster. though, a 9550 really wont be able to run that many more slots than a 9300.

The ram probably wont do much.
The CPU might add a few more slots. But if you're not having problems currently, I would say don't worry about it.
The Faster HDD will increase map load times which lots of people seems to like. You might want to consider that.

Will any of those upgrades noticeably improve performance on any of the CSS servers I currently have on there?

probably not much. but "performance" is pretty broad, what problems are you having?

my team is complaining about registry issues, and the server being choppy at times.
but i have 2 500fps privates, 2 1000fps privates and a 16slot 500fps pub on the box (Q9300, 4 gb of ram) and CPU doesn't really surpass 50% on any of the core's.
