how do you actualy run a mod?

CSS and HL2 death match work fine but not any mods....

basicaly what im doing is downloading the mod's zip file and extracting the directory and placing it into /srcds_l/'moddir' then chainging the -game thing when launching BUT every time i try to run a mod i have to rename 'GameInfo.txt to 'gameinfo.txt' or linux doesent find it... then this huge list of missing scripts seems to be found, scripts i dont even have on my computer...

and its prety much the same for all the mods i have tried, like when i run hl2ctf you can see the server but during the start up it sais using 'half life 2 game dll' and then it shows up as a death match server and gives errors about not being able to create all of the CTF specific entities. any help ?

connecting to the server running like this gives an error saying something about class tables missmatch and the server console displays
