SRCDS Steam group


What computer speccs do i need for..
#1
3 tf2 server! with 13 slots! max 12 players playing!
+ going to run apache mysql, php!
Any thoughts about what spec that would be OK!

Hardware? I would say a 3.0Ghz Dual Core should handle that fine. 2 servers on one core, 1 and web on the second.

However, your main issue is going to be bandwidth. You probably don't want to put game servers and web servers on the same box.

If you have the extra cash get an intel core 2 duo 3.0 with the 1333fsb

AMDs not recommended, also what os were u planing on running

That would be the best bet. . . or why not just spend a little more and get a quad? Just a thought though. . .

Quad core is a good option, but I amused that a 3.0Ghz dual core would be cheaper then a quad. However, you could probably get a low-end quad for cheap and put one server per a core.

Oh no doubt the Dual-Core would be cheaper, but if you can afford it, why not just go with a quad? Many more benefits. . .

Why not just use Shared Hosting from GoDaddy or the similar? It is much cheaper, usually costing $5 per month or less. Wink
