Ubuntu Server

hi ok so i installed the ubuntu server edition 8.10. logged in everything seemed to go well. so im in cmd mode ... no gui.

now. to start setting up the srcds. do i just begin to type in the cmds like if i were in GUI using a terminal? or is there further things i neeed to do?

Please bare with me this is the first time using the server edition. and i was wondering. how would i be able to edit like the srcds . startup line without the GUI?

commands are passed the same way. to edit configs use nano or vi.

You can install the GUI if you wish by doing "apt-install ubuntu-desktop" I think.
