i heart that the chipset is important to have 1000 FPS directly, but the load increase carefully....

Yeah, the FPS dips to 500 to 1000 often when > 5 players.

Im also having wildly unstable hlds fps with more than a few players, with none acting fairly stable. srcds is just fine (variations of less than 10fps maxxing out at 990ish unless sourcetv is enabled, then everything goes to crap) running the 2.6.26.6-rt11 kernel debian lenny, L5410 xeons. I was running with -tickrate 100, sys_ticrate 1000 so i tried sys_ticrate 2500 and adding -pingboost 3 since i never used it before. Interestingly enough pingboost caused an immediate increase of fps by about 10, although they were wildly unstable dropping down to the 400's constantly even with 0 players. I continued to execute the idler program and watched for the first time my cs 1.6 server hit 1000fps exactly, only to watch it start swinging down to the 400's as well. Anyways, im back where i started.

Still have CPU Frequency scaling and CPU idle PM support enabled. Network packet filtering framework is ON QoS and/or fair queueing is ON Kernel hacking -> RT Mutex integrity checker is ON The server runs 4 css servers and also a lot of other services like ftp and webservers.

Network packet filtering framework is ON QoS and/or fair queueing is ON Kernel hacking -> RT Mutex integrity checker is ON" Sorry .... CPU Frequency scaling and CPU idle PM support enabled >> I thinks thats more for notebooks QoS and/or fair queueing > This is for specify tranfer pakets, for gameserver not important > normally disable Kernel hacking > thats only progs for linux to overview the system (or??) thats why you could disable it. Network packet filtering framework > dont know I hope thats right ...
