Server time

Hi everybody,
I've got a problem with my server time.
When I connect to my server via FTP and browse to the Log files, the Date and Time when the files are created match my local time. When I open the Log file the time stamp of the Log entry is approx 6 hours behind the real time... same when I execute the "thetime" command.
As the time when the Log files are created is OK, the server time is also OK I guess so why differs the time of the log entry from the real server time so much ? Is there a server cvar I have to set for the timezone ?

I don't believe that could be an issue, cause it should be running off your server time.

Oh, forgot to update.
Yes the server time was wrong, thy provider corrected it so the time of the log entries is correct now but the time when the files were created is +6 hours now
