HLDS restart loop
#1
Hello,

I have installed hl2mp dedicated server on my linux system using hldsupdatetool. Once all files are downloaded, I use the following command to start the server :
./srcds_run -console -game hl2mp +map dm_runoff -maxplayers 16 -autoupdate

Then the update phase starts and goes in a loop as shown below. Any idea how to change that ? I'm really confused.

Ooooh yes ! You've got a point mate.

Find the infos below :
distro : Debian 3 rc1
gcc : 2.95.4
ldd (GNU libc) 2.2.5
kernel : 2.2.20

HW :
. AMD 3500+

. 1 GB RAM

I have not found any infos on this problem in the forum. I will give it an other try.

Inc0gs > I have not installed any plugins and I can't find any server.cfg or autoexec.cfg. I have started the server after a fresh install. It is lmy first install.

ok, update your debian distro to woody i think is the latest? source requires glibc 2.3, you have 2.2. so at least if not the whole distro, do GCC(to take better advantage of your k8) and glibc to 2.3.

also for the love of system security PLEASE update your kernel to 2.6.x or latest 2.4 tree ><
