I am trying to set up a Source Dedicated Server on my dedicated box in Dallas, and I got it installed and set up just fine, set the tickrate to 100, fps up to 600, fixed the rates, etc, and I'm still experiencing some bizarre lag issues. The animations are glitchy (for instance, people kinda teleport when they jump) and the server lags every few seconds for like a quarter of a second. I've done everything I can possibly think of to fix it, including messing with the tickrate, messing with the server FPS, messing with the pingbooster option, changing the rates around, etc, etc, etc... Nothing has worked.
Anyone have ideas?
My server is WAY more than enough to handle several instances of SRCDS. It's pretty much top-of-the-line, with over 8 gigs of RAM and 4 dual core processors, so I know that the server hardware isn't causing the bottleneck, and it's on a top tier connection with 100 MBit of up and down bandwidth at any given time, so...
If you'd like to give it a quick test, the IP address is 72.233.90.190 with the password being "loldix"... Don't ask, lol.
A quick note for anyone who goes to have a look: The server tickrate is set at 100, with server fps_max at 600 and rates to 101/101/25000 and pingbooster 2

load it up with bots or players (10ish) and do a bunch of rcon stats and paste the results.

In the process of recompiling the kernel right now, but if you would humor me, what exactly led you to believe that I need to recompile my kernel? Also, my kernel timing is already set to 1000 Hz so I doubt that's the problem...

your fps maxed out at 250 fps and drops as low as 10. when it drops under 100, it is noticeable during game play.
mainly you want it as consistent as possible at whatever fps mark you want. recompile is the only way to improve it.

Actually, it wasn't capped at 250. If I would change the fps_max in game, it would go up to (and hover around) 333. Plus, as I said, the kernel tickrate was already at 1000 so... Yeah. =/
In any event, now I can't get the server to be recognized in my Steam server browser. It boots up correctly and shows the start of the round, and a connection to VAC and the adding of master servers, etc etc etc. But when I try to connect, no dice, and it shows as not running on my Steam favorites list.

well if your fps drops under 100, it causes noticeable lag.
as for not being able to connect, has the ip changed? did srcds get bound to the correct ip?

No, the IP address is the same and I'm still binding to the correct IP and port. Here's the log of the server starting up. Maybe you can see something I've missed. =/

i dont know what to tell you..
i can ping the machine, but cant connect to the server.
this is at a data center with no firewall/router in front of it?
also double check that firewall/iptables is disabled.

The server worked at one point, and nothing has changed since then besides the kernel, so I don't see what could possibly be the issue. I've tried booting to my old kernel, and that didn't fix the problem, so I know it isn't the new kernel.
The iptables firewall has all ingoing and outgoing connections allowed with no ports blocked or firewalled, so there's no way that's the issue.
If there's a firewall installed at the datacenter that's causing troubles, it was installed within the last couple of days, and if that's the case, I'm going to be one very angry customer because that's not what I'm paying for.

maybe try the defualt port of 27015 and without sourcetv and zblock
