Help with making my server public

that you need to fix your port forwarding with your router.
Something is wrong.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but I have a question on this. Obviously I have the same issue. Linksys cable router and modem. Cant get server public. My NIC's IP is the one I advertise by forwarding in the router/with the port 27015? And the IP I have from my ISP is the one I put in the Server.cfg file? Im still not quite sure. Also, Port Targeting should cover a range, say 27000 to 27030? And for Port Fowarding has a range of 27000 to 27030 with the IP of my NIC, also? Is any of this correct?

Extreme newbie, I know. But I have searched not just here, but everywhere with no real clear explaination. Thanks in advance. -Brian

Don't use an IP address anywhere, it's not needed unless your server has 2 PHISICAL NICs installed. Forward that large IP range to your computers local IP for BOTH protocols. Your loacl IP range will show up when you do a ipconfig at a command line. Your local IP CAN change if you re-start your router which is why a static local IP is also recomended.

Perfect. Such a good and simple answer. Yet impossible to find untill you ask the right person...
Thank you. I'll see how it goes.
