I have a new box for my online servers. We're currently running 2 boxes. Each of them are
2 Dual Core Xeons @ 3.0 (4 total cores on each)
4GB RAM
On one box we are running a 30 man TF2 server and a 24 man TF2 server, both at 50 tick. The other is running a 24 man CSS server at 100 tick, and a 24 man TF2 server at 50 tick.
When all of these are full, we can some pretty bad lag. I'm amazed that these boxes cap out around 50-60 slots @ 50 tick.
Anyways, the new box specs are as follows
4 x Dual Core Opteron 875s (8 total cores @ 2.2)
8GB DDR2 (I think it's DDR2, I could be wrong though)
2x 32GB SCSI drives
My questions:
Question 1) How many slots am I looking at here. I'm hoping to get at the very least
2 x 24 man TF2 @ 66 tick
1 x 30 man TF2 @ 66 tick
1 x 26 man CSS @ 100 tick
1 x 32 man CoD4
I would ideally like to increase the size of these servers. Probably get the other 2 TF2 servers at 30 man and maybe bump CSS up a tad, but I don't want to sacrifice quality over quantity. Right now quality is below acceptable, in my book.
Question 2) What kind of bandwidth requirements are needed for the above configuration (the one listed in question 1).
Thanks!
