Hi guys,
First post - and first try at setting up a dedicated 10 slot server.
Problem:
I fire up the server, and it runs "fine" looking at the console anyway. Sometimes I can connect to it, sometimes I can't. Sometimes people can join, sometimes they can't. Every so often, someone manages to join - and some then times out, and can't rejoin (gets the "retried 4 times" message), and looking at people via friends already on the server, they see a server not responding.
Got a few of these aswell:
L 02/10/2008 - 16:44:46: "Banan!<3><STEAM_ID_PENDING><TERRORIST>" disconnected (reason "Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket")
And these:
L 02/11/2008 - 22:06:19: "hap<2><STEAM_0:0:12345><TERRORIST>" disconnected (reason "hap timed out")
But again, mainly - people are just not able to "see" the server. And it seems to be very periodic. I have noticed though, that it takes some time before the server "shows up" in the server list.
The server ip is: 85.81.13.210:27015 - I'm gonna leave it running for testing.
Server:
Windows 2003 Standard Edition SP2
AMD 3000+ @ 1.61 GHz
512 mb ram
Connection:
20/2 mbit adsl (14412/1747 kb/s on speedtest.net)
Zyxel P-660R-D1 router
All ports are forwarded in the router to the server
Server console view:
256.0 fps 0/10 on map de_dust2
Console initialized.
Game.dll loaded for "Counter-Strike: Source"
maxplayers set to 32
maxplayers set to 10
Network: IP 10.0.0.2, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27015 SV / 27005 CL
Executing dedicated server config file

stats
CPU In Out Uptime Users FPS Players
0.00 0.00 0.00 0 0 256.27 0
When we did manage to sit three players on at one time, i did a stats just to check:
stats
CPU In Out Uptime Users FPS Players
10.82 16824.57 26505.71 9 0 204.67 3
Any ideas as to how I can test the connection - or even better; any ideas why the connection seems so unstable? There is _no_ traffic what so ever on the network besides the srcds, me trying to connect via steam, a laptop on a wireless router (connected to a hub, connected to the zyxel router) connected to the server via terminal services ..
Come to think of it, could it be the hub?? ....
To late now (ten to midnight here) to check more stuff, I'll revert tomorrow with some more info on the hub and other network hardware I have connected if necessary.
Thanks for any input!
