[solved] Want to use server for LAN w/o internet?
#1
running srcds for cs:s on centos 5 and everything runs ok. but i will be wanting to take this server to a lan and am not sure if internet will be available. i'm not sure if there is anything else involved with starting srcds offline aside from having sv_lan 1 in my server.cfg. but i tried starting srcds without internet connection and it seems to get stuck loading on startup right before the point of "adding master server...".

am i missing something? thanks in advance for any help.

sv_lan 1 does the trick.

when i change it to sv_lan 1 and i disconnect internet connection before starting srcds it hangs at the tail end of loading. so i waited for about a minute or two and then plugged in my internet and then it read
Adding master server 68.142.72.250:27011
Adding master server 72.165.61.190:27011

so it does not seem to be working for me by changing sv_lan 1 in my server.cfg.

i figured it out by putting -nomaster in the startup command line.

Well nice job and when you put sv_lan 1, you dont disconnect the internet connetion Smile. In a LAN server, it still should add the master servers. At least thats what happens when I host one.

right, thats understandable. the lan isn't for a few months and i am not sure the facility will be having an internet connection. so that is why i was testing without it to see if it would start as it should. thanks for the replies, its much appreciated.
