Ubuntu Or Fedora What one?
#1
Hello there, I was going to use windows for my server then looked into the prices. So the two I'm looking at are Ubuntu or Fedora
I tried using the search option on here it just gave me a bunch of things I never wanted so I thought I would make a post about it.

I would like to know what one you guys here use? Also if you have any tips for a noob. Smile
It's always nice to know a few people that have done it befor.
I pretty much just want to make sure I know how to keep everything up and running, I would want gui on the server since I am new to linux.

Ubanto, simply because you probably don't have any lunix experience.
If you do, however, fedora all the way.

As said before, most of the big distros are quite stable.
The main issue might be drivers and hardware compatibility.
If there are no drivers (or bad drivers) for the system, then of course it wont be very stable.

If you have no specific reason to install a GUI (unless you're using Windows or Mac OSX) then don't use one!!!!
