Updated server having problems

Why am I getting "Your server will be restarted on map change.", if it says my server is up to date?


Auto detecting CPU
Using SSE2 Optimised binary.
Server will auto-restart if there is a crash.
Updating server using Steam.

I too am having this issue.

Another thing that I have noticed is that whenever I try to join the server after this I receive the error message...

"The server is running an older protocol ( 12 ) than your client."

I'm not sure what else to do besides attempt to update the server and apparently it tells me the same things that the first poster is seeing.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening and what I need to do to get the server up to the latest version?

thats because your client has been updated but the server hasn't. meaning, your system is updated but the server has yet to be updated.

had the same problem previously and is due to the -autoupdate command when you start the server i believe. find the "InstallRecord.blob" file and move it somewhere else or just rename to InstallRecord.blob.bak to back it up. then manually run the updater and it should correct the problem. my understanding is the "-autoupdate" command doesn't actually work properly which is why this message comes up.
