Greetings,
I have a Solaris 10 (Intel) machine that I'd like to set up as a Source Dedicated Server.
Solaris 10 can run Intel linux binaries, but I haven't seen anyone mention in these forums whether or not they've been successful in running the Source Dedicated Server under Solaris. There was one thread that discussed an unsuccessful attempt on SPARC CPUs.
Has anyone gotten the server to run under Intel-Solaris? If not, I'll have to reformat my box for FreeBSD or Linux. If no one has, I'll try it first and report back here.
Thanks,

UPDATE:
It looks like under the current (4/5/2007) Sun-distributed version of Solaris 10, the Solaris Containers for Linux Applications feature IS NOT included yet. The only Linux solution for this release is the lxrun package, which only allows read access to the Linux filesystem--that won't work.
Solaris Containers for Linux Applications was moved from the Open Solaris Community to the official Sun code tree in December '06. It appears to be available now in two distros. The official-from-Sun package is a beta download of Solaris 10 from Sun, called BrandZ (Solaris Containers for Linux Applications) DVD 35.
It looks like you can also download it separately from the Open Solaris Community BrandZ, but you can only install it on the Open Solaris Community Edition.
I know this sounds like more work than just installing Unbuntu or WinXP, but I'm a Solaris-head, and I like the networking, fault protection and virtualization features of Solaris.
I'd still like to see if anyone has gotten srcds to work under Solaris under any of the above (lxrun, BrandZ, Solaris Containers) before I give it a try.
Thanks Again.
