GUI steam vs. Console

Using the GUI i know you can't join your own server, but is it possible with the console? im downloading the files rightnow...

Yes it's possible. I've done it many times.

Make sure you have all ports open, that are required for the server to operate at least.

You have to join using you're local IP address if you're behind a router (192.168.2.* - replace * with you're number).

RCON won't work however, that seems to be the only problem I've found when doing this.

I don't recommnd doing it anyway.

you can do it with the gui cant you? isnt it a matter of asigning a port other then 27015 (like using 27016 for the server instead of 15).
