Problem updating...
#1
Sad
I hadent use my linux server for a while so last time I tried to launch it it was out of date. So I tried to update the thing using:
Code:
./steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir . -username killer123 -password moomoo -remember_password

And it would give me that...
Code:
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Use:

Create a Steam Account:
        -create <username> <password> <question> <answer>

Install or update HLDS:
        -update <game> <installdir> <username> [<password> [Y]]
         Y => remember password

View installed versions:
        -version

After much fiddling around and getting a headach, I wiped the server folder off my machine and decided to re-do everything from the ground up, only to find that when I used:
Code:
./steam -command install -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir . -username killer123 -password moomoo -remember_password

It gave me the same dumb thing. Im doing the exact same thing I did like a month ago when I installed it originally yet it doesnt work. Im totally clueless and I would much appreciate any help.

both ./steam and ./steam -update give me the same thing:

Code:
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Use:

Create a Steam Account:
        -create <username> <password> <question> <answer>

Install or update HLDS:
        -update <game> <installdir> <username> [<password> [Y]]
         Y => remember password

View installed versions:
        -version

Big differece.

Although looking at it i worded it wrong.

Try:

rm -rf ~/.steam

I had the same kind of problem with parameters, and that fixed it.

I had removed the .steam and it didnt seem to help. But Cryotek's steam did the trick, god knows why Rolleyes

Is that the one you extracted from hldsupdatetool.bin hosted on steampowered?

In anycases, thanks a whole lot Cryotek, and everyone that tried to help.
